About me

We know so much about how our minds and emotions work, how to succeed at relationships, how to manage our stress and anxiety—but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to be healthy.

As a therapist, I sit across from people everyday who are trying their best to answer questions like, “Why am I feeling this way?” or “How can I improve my relationships?” Sometimes they cannot get out from the grips of depression or can’t stop feeling anxious or overwhelmed.

Psychological problems often have many layers. In therapy, I create a safe space for you to connect to and experience your feelings so we can begin to understand those layers and develop skills and habits that move you toward health.

Moving Toward Healing

Your mind wants to be healthy and, with the right tools, will move toward greater health. In addition to talk therapy, I place a high value on psychoeducation, or providing information to help people understand what is going on in their brains and bodies when they feel anxious, depressed or stressed. Psychoeducation often helps you know that what you are experiencing may be normal reactions to events like loss, trauma, or developmental changes.

I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a powerful technique for treating some forms of mental distress and trauma. Learn more here.

When you gain insights about yourself and make adjustments based on those new insights, you begin to feel better, work better, play better, and love better.
